Whats the craziest (successful) business idea you have heard of? why did it work? Why didn't it work? Would you be interested in coming up with a unique business idea (& write a report) for a cash prize with the university of newcastle?

one of the craziest ones i have heard is Doggles, they now have stores all around the world and are millionaires. they create goggles for dogs and sell them online. theyre successful because some dog owners are worried about the damage that can be caused to their dogs eyes outside the home that may lead to eye disease.
it doesnt interest me too much, they would also be looking for something that would be something completely new that they havent seen before on all their years and i dont believe ill do very well with that.

By far the craziest business idea ive ever heard of was when american man, Paul Hartunian, sold tiny wooden chips of the brooklyn bridge for $14.95 a piece along with a certificate that said "i own the brooklyn bridge".
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest and well known bridges in America, and the reason it worked so well was purely because it was so outrageous and unique. It earned him alot of publicity and money too.
For a cash prize, of course id create an idea, however, I wouldnt be too keen on creating a unique business product in the REAL business world because, for one thing, its a MASSIVE risk. And even if it was a major hit product, trends tend to die as soon as peope realize how stupid and pointless the idea is.

One of the craziest business ideas i have heard of is about a German entrepreneur who sells engraved toothpicks by carving them out of small sticks with his hands. The reason why it worked was because he said that tree it was carvrd out was natural and good for teeth development. Another reason was because he is wealthy and has the money to advertise it and make it well known around Germany.

the craziest business idea that i've heard of is a website that sells butterflies for special occasions such as weddings and the butterflies are released on the day. this business has become very successful eventhough it is quite expensive to buy the butterflies.

The craziest business idea that i have heard of is Santa mail. Santa mail was started off by a man named Byron Reese. What he did was that he got a postal address at he North Pole in Alaska and chared parents $10 to write their kids a santa letter from that address. His business has gotten quite popular, as he has written over 300,000 letters since 2002. I would be interested in coming up with a unique business idea, but it would be risky because if my idea does not sell i would be losing money.

The craziest but successful business idea that i've heard of is the balls to put on top of your car antenna. It worked because it looked cute and came in different styles to match your car or personality.
No, because the risk is way too high and it's more often that business ideas go wrong than go right.

The craziest business idea that ive heard of is a microwaveable pillow. It worked because it was easy and simple to create and a lot of people wanted it.
The creator started getting phone calls from the local people asking for a microwaveable pillow to be made for them this led to them being sold in many stores and worldwide.

There's a restaurant in Sydney where they throw your food at you and you have to catch it on your plate,
This worked because people saw it as entertainment, with food, and everyone loves a good night out with decent entertainment and food. People get bored of doing the same thing all the time, and this is something out of the ordinary for a evening with friends, something new.
I personally wouldn't be interested in coming up with an idea myself. I'm not particulary interested in actually entering the business world myself, I took the subject because I think I will learn useful skills, and if my other career options for the future don't work out, it's good to have that bit of knowledge to fall back on to use if necessary, I know not everything goes to to plan.

1800 reverse is the most crazy business idea i've heard because they say you don't need credit to call but to actually call people you need credit so it doesnt work. I would not do this business idea.

Monks. The funny guys with funny clothes and a rope for a belt. Their belief in God is meant to be their only possession, so, isn't selling them kinda against their beliefs? But whatever, their God may be all they need, but they still need to buy food, so its acceptable.

The Craziest business idea i've ever heard of (other than the *brick*) would be pet shops! I mean, you could go and find a stray dog, or cat (in a bin) or go fishing, but no, instead, you go waste your fuel to find a shop, and then buy the animal for crazily (extremely) inflated prices! Its Crazy! (john)

Come up with a crazy idea for money. If that is not a job that is made for me, i don't know what is. So many ideas that i could do…that job would be heaven…

But back to the monks. A monk is defined as a person who practices religious asceticism, living either alone or with any number of monks, whilst always maintaining some degree of physical separation from those not sharing the same purpose. You can see whats happening here! How are these monks keeping away from the non-monks if they're selling stuff! It's a strange world isn't it.

My two cents.
Peace :)

That was the craziest business I've heard is gun rental. What it is, is that you go to a shop and hire a gun. There are many shops that do that in America which are going well. You can hire many different types of guns you can hire

The craziest idea for a business I have heard ever in my life of 16 years 40 days is clothing optional dining. This is a restaurant/bar that allows you to choose wether or not you wear any clothes at all. They encourage people to go nude to add a sense spontaneity to thier usual boring dining experiences. The people range from ages 18 all the way 70 years old. This is crazy

The craziest business that I have heard of is a guy who does 3D paintings on the ground and he makes alot from each painting. After he finishes his painting he covers it and then charges people to see what he has drawn, these paintings are very well done and and very spectacular.
